The Sunset has proudly stood in Vancouver’s West End since 1972, beginning its life as Las Palmas Apartments, a newly built residence in the heart of the neighbourhood. Owned by the same family since the beginning, it evolved into Centennial Lodge and later Sunset Inn & Suites, welcoming guests from around the world with spacious suites and the comforts of home. Each name marked a new chapter—an ongoing story of adaptation, hospitality, and connection to the community around us.
Today, the building enters its next chapter as The Sunset—reimagined with refreshed interiors, seamless phone-based access, and conveniences designed for independent, easy stays. While the look and technology have changed, the heart of the experience remains the same: a warm, uncomplicated place to settle in, steps from the gentle rhythm and enduring charm of Vancouver’s West End.
